Mom and Baby Yoga – February 5th

In this Mom and Baby Yoga session, the focus will be on gentle stretching and movement to help heal and reconnect to your postnatal body  Bring your baby and enjoy this time to reconnect with your body and connect to your newest addition.  Babies will be included in some portion of the class, though moms are welcome to enjoy the freedom to practice on their own as baby sleeps or crawls.  You will also learn some massage techniques and stretches for baby as well throughout the session.  It is recommended that you are at least 12-weeks postpartum to join the session.  All babies up to the crawling stage are welcome.  All you need is your mat, baby, and diaper bag!

Learn To Fly – March 9th

Are you curious about adding a little flying to your practice? This playful workshop will give you the opportunity to learn and practice many arm balances. We will integrate components of core, hand placement, shoulder stability, balance, drishti and more! Deanne will include many variations and transitions as well. Class will close with a temple massage and aromatherapy experience during your savasana. This class is best suited for students who have a full chaturanga in their practice.

Students all receive a manual with pictures to take home.

Pre-Natal 4 Week Session – February 3rd

Come and join other soon-to-be-moms and reap all the benefits that Prenatal yoga has to offer. We will focus on tying the breath to each movement in order to calm the mind and teach the body to relax. Prenatal yoga will also provide some ideas on how to relieve some of the most common physical ailments experienced during pregnancy. We will incorporate some gentle twisting for indigestion, standing poses for improving balance, opening the hips and relieving lower back tension, while other poses may help with leg cramps and carpal tunnel syndrome. We will stretch and strengthen the body to increase flexibility and keep the muscles toned. Schedule a special time to connect with your baby!

Yoga Fundamentals – January 19th

Are you new to yoga? Looking to further your knowledge of common poses? Tweak your technique? This workshop is great for all levels, even if you’ve never practiced before. Youth Yoga 4 Week Session – January 8th

This class is developed for teens and pre-teens. We will focus on building awareness of the body and breath through yoga poses, breathing exercises and meditation, building groundwork for a healthy lifestyle. This class is taught in a way to encourage creativity and exploration of the body allowing teens to develop more confidence and have tools to help deal with stress.

30 Day Yoga Challenge – January 8th

Getting into and maintaining a healthy routine calms the mind and balances the body, keeping your energy steady and strong. Nothing helps you build strength, flexibility and balance like a 30 day yoga challenge! If you are looking for motivation to kick-start or revitalize your yoga practice, this is the challenge for you!

The challenge begins Tuesday,  January 8th. Come to any class on the schedule! There will be a kick-off meeting that day at 8:45am. Meet other people in the challenge, set your goals and challenge intention and receive answers to commonly asked questions!

The challenge ends 35 days later on Monday, February 11th (wrap up meeting at 8:45am).

The challenge runs over 35 days to give you a little leeway so that you can miss a day if something comes up. Building a routine takes 28 days. By the time you are done, yoga will be a healthy lifestyle habit for you! You must attend one class per day – no doubling up days. If you successfully attend yoga for 30 days, you will receive 30 days of yoga post-challenge FREE. Everyone who enters the Challenge will be entered in a draw for a $50 That Yoga Place gift certificate. What better way to stay healthy, invigorate your yoga practice and feel awesome!

New Beginnings: 108 Sun Salutations – January 1st

108 Sun Salutations are often practiced at the beginning of a new season or to mark a new beginning. This class is designed with little yogis in mind. Throughout the 4 weeks, we will be working on developing strength, mindfulness and inner peace. Each week will build on new poses through active yoga sequences along with different forms of meditation and breathing. Themes and games will be included weekly to allow them to release their energy and feel calm and focused.

That Yoga Place 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training

This 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program will be focusing on the traditional Hatha Yoga methods and applying them to Vinyasa, Yin, and Flow classes. As a trainee, you will learn everything you need to know to take your own practice deeper and to teach a safe and intelligent yoga class. The course covers yoga asanas, anatomy, pranayama, philosophy, mantra, and ayurvedic applications. This will help shape your life and teaching style. You will end your education with a week-long yoga retreat.

Solstice Ceremony & Full Moon Flow – December 22nd

Every single thing has a cycle. Life, the moon, the day and relationships. These cycles or patterns can be healthy and beneficial or they can be redundant & avoidable. This is such a special time of year as it gathers together to power of a full moon and the winter solstice. A full moon is a time for releasing & purging what no longer serves us: emotions, opinions, addictions or relationships. Winter Solstice ushers in the return of the sun bringing in feelings of hope, new beginnings and growth. Bring a journal and a pen to begin a journaling habit & intention setting. We will practice the beautiful Moon Salutation and all the postures celebrating the moon. This feel good class will end with a special meditation & aromatherapy. This will help carry you through the Christmas season on good vibes!
