Ceremony – August 24th

Sam & Mandy are collaborating and bringing their passion and knowledge of ceremony to our studio now on a regular basis. The ceremony is revered in every culture, religion, and country; and often overlooked here in Canada. Ancient traditions and truths are held in these different ceremonies and we will offer you a variety of ways to practice ceremony, a variety of intentions or themes, a variety of guest teachers to join us over the next several months. This is an ongoing special class being held a couple of times a month on Saturday nights from 6:30-8:00 pm.
Each Ceremony Session will be a combination of asana, meditation, pranayama, soul work, and learning. We will cover a vast array of “modalities” such as crystals, chakras, reiki, aromatherapy, tarot, fire puja, Kirtan chanting, and connection. Sam & Mandy will have a special gift each week that you can take home and add to your altar, talisman, pocket or bag of tricks! You don’t need to commit to a certain number, you may drop in for $25 whenever you feel. Keep a look out for our posters we will announce our themes and intentions a few weeks prior, so pick your favorite or try them all. We look forward to sharing the time, space and powerful practice with you.

Mysore – August 18th

Take your practice to the next level & start practicing Mysore Style with us at the studio and at home. Mysore has nothing to do with being sore …. it is the place, the origin in India of a special style of yoga: The goal is to practice at your own individual pace and level, knowing your asanas and being able to focus more on your breath and exploring the connection of drishti, breath & bandha. In the beginning, we will look into

the practiced asanas in theory and you will receive your own set of poses based on the Ashtanga primary series. If you are already practicing second or advanced series please let us know and you will also be able to join at your level of practicing Ashtanga yoga. It is not a led class but an individual guided and assisted practice to go into a deeper understanding of your body & mind. After this workshop, you will feel ready and comfortable to step into your regular Ashtanga or flow yoga practice and start practicing at home or at studios that offer Mysore style classes. If you already have taken our Ashtanga 101 workshop it will be a great benefit for this course.

Yoga Nidra – August 3rd

This nourishing practice requires nothing but an open mind. The practice of Nidra is often called Yoga Sleep. Doesn’t that sound relaxing ? The instructor will systematically begin to guide you through a practice designed to take you from your “thinking” brain into your “being” brain. You will spend the time with some gentle movements and then deep rest and total relaxation. This special yoga is proven to help in soothing the subconscious mind from harmful patterns, addictions, and behaviors you would like to relinquish. A gift to your nervous system and the ultimate in relaxation.

Pierina Fadi

I was brought to my first Hatha yoga class many years ago (initially for lower back pain) and quickly realized the many benefits that it provided the mind, body and spirit connection.  I was hooked ever since! At that point I realized that my life path was leading me to become a yoga teacher. (After completing a Bachelors of Education, I never felt ‘quite right’ with what the education system provided students and felt that there was something missing in the curriculum that did not encourage the mind, body and spirit connection). My passion for philosophy and spirituality lead me to write a thesis called Education For Connection; Beyond Linear Learning and I earned a Masters Degree from McGill university in 2003. After graduating from the Moksha Yoga Teacher Training program in 2004, I realized that teaching yoga was a way of expressing myself “thesis in action”. Since then, I have studied with a few highly accredited teachers including John Friend, Judith Lasater, David Life, Michael Stone, and Frank Boccio and many others. With my passion for learning and teaching, I went on to complete Moksha Yoga Teacher Training Level 2 and Yin yoga in 2007, and studied Anusara Yoga from 2012-13. I also became interested in the more subtle forms of the yoga practice by completing Yin level 2 in 2015, and Yoga Nidra (know as Yoga of Divine sleep) level 1 & 2 in winter of 2016.

My classes integrate my knowledge of Hatha, Yin, Pranayama and Yoga Nida, with the essential knowledge of the yoga practice.  I focus on integrity of alignment, and the ability to move smoothly with breath.I love teaching yoga and truly feel honored to guide students in their own yoga practice.

I am a daughter, sister, wife and mother. I have 2 beautiful children, one fur child and a love for life and all of its journeys. I love to see people smile, grow, change and discover! I am passionate about yoga, friends, family, nutrition, nature, skiing, a good book, and finding ways to challenge my body.

My love for yoga began to blossom a few years back. I was looking to find a deeper connection within myself. My practice quickly deepened. After some time, I began to feel the benefits and grow profoundly in many aspects of my life. My entire world began to shift as I fell deeply in love with my own practice and noticed growth and balance in many areas of my life.

I began to feel a very strong urge to share the practice of yoga with others, and made the decision to take my 200hr yoga teacher training. I am now very excited to share what I know with others in hopes of helping other people find the many benefits of yoga. My mission as a teacher is to give others the opportunity to grow, find balance, build strength and feel the gift of life in every breath and in every moment.

In 2010 Yoga had came into my life while I was in a dark place mentally. Originally like most, I went to my first class for more of a physical practice. My practice was sporadic and mainly taught by Jillian Michaels until our family moved here to Spruce Grove in 2013. Shortly after I had found That Yoga Place and my practice had taken off in more ways then one. Physically, mentally and spiritually I was transforming and wanting more and more. I could see how yoga was changing the way I looked and lived my life. I was wanting to further my knowledge of yoga physically and spiritually by going to the home land of Yoga, India. While in the planning phase I found myself struggling with anxiety but knew that I would not let it get the best of me and decided to take my training at That Yoga Place, and I haven’t looked back since.

Since finishing my ryt200, I have continued with more in Yin, Restorative and kid’s yoga.

Yoga has done so much for me and I am wanting to share that with others.
