  • Ashtanga Immersion – October 27th

With roots stemming from Mysore, India, Ashtanga yoga’s primary series is a specific sequence of postures that enliven, strengthen and purify the body. In this 5-hour workshop with Krista, you will:

    • Break down the sun salutations and integrate breath with movement.

    • Explore “whole body core” and what it means to embody postures.

    • Examine where the body may be “hanging out” in poses and learn to energize the postures to improve alignment.

    • Demystify poses that are hard to attempt and make them accessible.

You will come away from this workshop with a new understanding of many foundational postures, some of which include: side angle, wide-leg forward fold, triangle, revolved triangle, shoulderstand, wheel and sitting forward bend. This new approach will help to eliminate common obstacles and increase the fluidity and ease with which you practice and experience the benefits of each pose.

  • The Foundations Of Meditation – October 6th

Two Part Course in the Foundations of Meditation

    Meditation

In the last century science has proven the brain is elastic and therefore able to be trained and molded.  This idea however is far from being a revelation.  Buddhist monks and serious yoga practitioners did not require science to prove what they have been practicing and benefiting from for thousands of years.  The enormously powerful skill of meditation was not cultivated to be under utilized in the simple management of relaxation and stress reduction. It was practiced and perfected to gain deep insight into the workings of mind and into the nature of perception and reality.  Persistent and dedicated effort was needed to first understand how the mind was working and then to mold it into how it could work.
This two part course will present the foundations for a very solid meditation practice.  We will spent time on the theory of meditation so as to understand why and how we are to establish such a practice.  Then we will spend time in the practice itself.  The practice will fuel the knowledge and then further the practice.
Come and begin this life skill that will undoubtedly change the way your mind processes.

  • Meditation – September 1st

    Regular class passes accepted!

In the last century, science has proven the brain is elastic and therefore able to be trained and molded. This idea, however, is far from being a revelation. Buddhist monks and serious yoga practitioners did not require science to prove what they have been practicing and benefiting from for thousands of years. The enormously powerful skill of meditation was not cultivated to be underutilized in the simple management of stress and relaxation. It was practiced and perfected to gain deep insight into the workings of the mind and into the nature of perception and reality.
In order to understand how to establish an effective practice, we will spend a small amount of time on the methodology. However, the majority of time will be spent in practice as it is here where meditation has the power to transform our lives.

  • Mysore – August 19th

Take your practise to the next level & start practising Mysore Style with us at the studio and at home. Mysore has nothing to do with being sore …. it is the place, the origin in India of a special style of yoga: The goal is to practice at your own individual pace and level, knowing your asanas and being able to focus more on your breath and exploring the connection of drishti, breath & bandha. At the beginning we will look into the practiced asanas in theory and you will receive your own set of poses based on the Ashtanga primary series. If you are already practicing second or advanced series please let us know and you will also be able to join at your level of practicing Ashtanga yoga. It is not a led class but an individual guided and assisted practice to go into a deeper understanding of your body & mind. After this workshop you will feel ready and comfortable to step into your regular Ashtanga or flow yoga practice and start practicing at home or at studios that offer Mysore style classes. If you already have taken our Ashtanga 101 workshop it will be a great benefit for this course.
