Start off with some breathing techniques, some long yin yoga poses and some self-massage using balls. Connie will be demonstrating the same techniques she learned from her teacher, Michele Theoret of Empowered Yoga. Self-Myofascial Release or SMR helps to stimulate the connective tissues and fibres. It is suggested that these techniques help to hydrate, re-organize, and increase circulation in these fibres. Rolling allows the muscles to release and relax tension in the body for a much deeper state of bliss in savasana.
Remember to bring socks or slippers to keep your feet warm and blanket. You will also need an additional tube sock to place our balls in.
